Oma's Birthday Baseball Game

On the 7th we all headed down to Phoenix to watch the Diamondbacks play the Padres. Oma is a huge baseball fanatic...borderline obsessive, so this was a perfect birthday gift. Nate got us AWESOME seats...3rd baseline 2nd row. They all got there REALLY early (in time for batting practice) to get Luis Gonzales bobble heads and autographed baseballs. We got there just as they were singing the National Anthem. It was time for some stadium food and drinks. Amazingly, Ella ate a hot dog and bun (she never eats the bun) without a fuss...Ballpark food is good no matter what. First at bat for the Diamondbacks was a home run!!! What a way to start the game. During the 7th inning Tony Gywnn hit a foul ball down the 3rd baseline. The foul ball guy (I am sure he has a real title) gave Ella the ball. Nate was SUPER EXCITED. So was Ella, but I don't think she truly understood the significance of getting a foul ball. Diamondbacks were still in the lead till the 9th inning...I was sad because it looked like they were going to lose! HOMERUN!!! The same guy who hit the opening homerun closed the game with another homerun. DIAMONDBACKS WIN!!!!!!
